Game Recap

The Southeast Pirates tied the Newton Falls Tigers 2-2 at home on Saturday. After the Tigers opened the game with a goal, Junior Garrett Dietz tied the game with an assist from Dominic Marchitiello. In the second half, Newton Falls again put up the first goal, going ahead 2-1. In the 57th minute, Sophomore Ryan Gellatly received a ball from Sophomore Nate Kutz and roped in a shot from outside the Tiger’s box to tie the game. With a minute left, Newton Falls charged down the field and sent a shot rocketing toward the Pirate’s goal. Diving to his left, Junior goalkeeper Sam Ballentine made the fingertip save to secure the tie for the Pirates. The Pirates will play again at home on Tuesday when they host the Red Devils at 5:00.
