The Southeast Pirates got their first win on the season in a thrilling double overtime victory over the visiting Rootstown Rovers on the Pirates homecoming. Andrew Borning kicked a 32 yard field goal in the second overtime for the Pirates victory. The Pirates were led on both sides of the ball by Brett Bailey, who was also crowned homecoming king in the pre-game festivities. The had 91 yards rushing on 25 carries and a touchdown. On defense, Bailey had 8 tackles (7 solo) and two tackles for loss. Also on defense for the Pirates Eric Lough had 8 tackles and one TFL, Keaton Dyer had 8 tackles, Hunter James had 8 tackles and one TFL, and Dominic Nicolino had one interception and one pass defended. On offense, Billy Rose had 107 yards of total offense and 2 rushing TD’s. Dominic Nicolino had 2 receptions for 28 yards and Reed Myers led the team with 3 catches for 40 yards.
The Pirates return to action next Friday when the Mogadore Wildcats come to town.
