Game Recap

The Southeast boys soccer team defeated the Norton Panthers at home on Saturday by a score of 2-1. The Pirates started slow in the first-half, giving up a penalty kick, which Norton defender Christian Hosbach placed well to make the score 1-0 at halftime. However, the Pirates once again displayed their never quite attitude in the final 40 minutes. With 25:13 on the clock, Noah Fisher sent a corner kick to the back post. Senior John Leitzel settled the ball and passed to Senior Keadron Sondereker who fired the ball home, evening the score at 1-1. Sondereker was not done. Desperately pushing his team forward, Sondereker won a throw-in for the Pirates after suffering a mid-air collision. Refusing to quite, Sondereker limped into the Panther goal box, where Senior Tommy Dailey threw him the ball with 5:21 left in the game. With his back to the goal, Sondereker chested the ball down, turned and struck the ball past goalkeeper Devin Weisbarth for the game winner. The win makes the Pirates 2-0-2 in their last four games, and trending upwards as the postseason draws nearer.
