The Boys Varsity soccer team put on a dominating performance at home against Jackson-Milton, defeating the Bluejays 6-0. Junior Ryan Gellatly started the scoring for the Pirates, giving him back to back games with opening goals. Sophomore Mark Presley would follow with a goal, assisted by Senior Garrett Dietz. Presley would return the favor, assisting Dietz on the next goal, making the score 3-0. Senior Jack Romocean would add his own goal before the first half closed, assisted by Sophomore Logan Dillner. In the second half, Mark Presley would notch his second goal, heading in a cross by Sophomore Max LaChance. Romocean would close the scoring for the game, with a volley off a cross by Dietz. The Pirate defense, captained by Seniors Ben Fisher and Xerxes Smith, allowed only one shot-on-goal the entire game. Senior goalkeeper Sam Ballentine recorded his first clean sheet of the year, and the fourth game in a row holding the opponent to two goals or less. The Pirates are now unbeaten in their last two games, and will host league rival Garfield on Tuesday at home. Tuesday’s match will be the last home game for the Pirates and the Seniors will be honored before the game, so come out and show your support!
