The Southeast Boys Soccer team defeated Lake Center Christian on Thursday night by a score of 3-2. The Pirates started strong, scoring first when Junior Ryan Gellatly finished a great cross from Senior Garrett Dietz. Senior Goalkeeper Sam Ballentine would come up with some key first half saves, to keep the Pirates up 1-0 at half. However, the tigers would come out of halftime on fire, scoring two goals to take the lead with 20 minutes to go. That’s when Dietz took over. Chasing down a great pass from Gellatly, Dietz cut through the Lake Center defense and sent a strike home to tie the game. With seven minutes left, Dietz attacked the Tiger defense and played a great ball to Sophomore striker Mark Presley, who finished what would prove to be the game-winning goal. With Ballentine standing strong in the net, and seniors Ben Fisher and Jack Romocean clearing pressure, the Pirates ran out the clock to clinch their fourth win in a row. The win puts the boys in second place in the PTC, with a pivotal match against league leaders Crestwood coming up!
