The Boys Pirate Soccer team defeated Waterloo on Saturday 3-0 in Atwater. Senior Garrett Dietz opened the scoring for the Pirates, assisted by Sophomore Mark Presley. Dietz would return the favor in the second half, sending in a cross that Presley would head home to make the score 2-0. Later in the second half, Junior Ryan Gellatly sent a cross to Senior Jack Romocean, who headed the ball in for the third goal of the game. The Pirate back line, consisting of Freshman Logan Macky, Sophomore Collin Timms and Senior captains Ben Fisher and Xerxes Smith, denied attack after attack, and helped Senior Goalkeeper Sam Ballentine record his second shut-out of the year. The Pirates end the regular season 7-8-1 and will travel to Woodridge on Tuesday for their first tournament game in the post season.
